We spent a day exploring the hip, bohemian neighbourhood of Vila Madalena in São Paulo, Brazil!
Everyone told us we absolutely had to go see “Batman Alley” while in São Paulo, so we started things off there. Batman Alley or Beco do Batman is a pedestrian only street full of amazing street art. Rumour is the first graffiti there was of batman and that’s where the name comes from.
After this we went not far up the street to a very colourful staircase called Escadaria Do Patapio.
Later on we decided to grab a refreshment. Brazil is the number of exporter of coffee in the entire world, so of course we had to try it out for ourselves. We made our way to a place called Coffee Lab where they had pages and pages of different types of coffee and coffee drinks. It was hot out so we opted for iced lattes.
Lastly we discovered a craft beer place not far away! Croma Beer Co. had recently opened din the neighbourhood and as soon as we walked in the offered to take us on a tour of their brewery. Afterwards we sat down and each had one of their beers.
ABOUT SÃO PAULO
São Paulo, Brazil’s vibrant financial center, is among the world’s most populous cities, with numerous cultural institutions and a rich architectural tradition. Its iconic buildings range from its neo-Gothic cathedral and the 1929 Martinelli skyscraper to modernist architect Oscar Niemeyer’s curvy Edifício Copan. The colonial-style Pátio do Colégio church marks where Jesuit priests founded the city in 1554.
ABOUT BRAZIL

Hey friends! When you return to Brazil come visit the south
Saudações do brasil. Sejam sempre bem vindo!! My respect fron brazil Canadá 😍
you guys were wrong, the street is called "alley of the batman" because seen from above it has the shape of the batman's wing
You should visit the Northest of Brazil (Nordeste) next time. People there are even nicer! And there are lots of different fruits there to try and wonderful beaches, too.
Traveling to São Paulo as a white man and traveling as a black man are two different dynamics. As a Black man am I saying that Blacks should not travel there??? I am not saying that. I believe that blacks should travel there but there are some things that you will have to understand .
Firstly São Paulo is a city that is 70% white. In São Paulo all of the upper scale neighborhoods are 99% white. São Paulo has somewhat of a segregation system based on “class” people of the higher classes live together ..people of the lower classes live together , etc
Unfortunately “blacks” because of slavery and lack of opportunities fit at the very bottom of the social scale. many paulistas(natives of São Paulo)when they see black skin they automatically will think of you as belonging to the lower class. The word for this in portugués is “preconceito.” Don’t be surprised if “some” people will be fearful of you etc. Am I saying that ever single person will be this way? Of course not. Even in São Paulo a city of 12.5 million people exist very extremely kind hearted individuals.
What is more ironic is that other blacks will be fearful of you as well based on the “preconceito “ that exist. But please don’t over exaggerate my words. You will be fine.
Please go…you will have more positive experiences than negative, but I just want to give a little insight into the culture and the social conditions of São Paulo. I have been there 7 times (Vila Olimpia/Morumbi/Brooklin/Alphaville/vila Magdalana..etc etc.
Podemos ajudar. Vocês são muito agradáveis.
Nice compliment about Brazilians ❤️❤️❤️ nice vídeo guys
You are awesome!!! The little we brazilians could provide to you guys is insignificant compared to your simpathy towards our culture, our food, and all the good adjectives you never stop conveying. We Brasil thank you for the series. I hope you take some of us back home with you, because surely you left some of you in all of us!!
I think São Paolo Megapoltan is more beautiful than New York. This city is also more bigger than New York. I'm from Surabaya Metropolitan the green, clean, neat and shady city in Indonesia. Always success for you and beyond. Wow……..🙏👍🙏👍
i like pichação, its the expression of a part of são paulo and its really cool, they have their own language and hand writing
Yall should have went to Trillhs microbrewery. Its the best!
You could almost be mistaken as brazilians
Voltem sempre. Serão muito bem-vindos.
Hey! You have to come to Rio de Janeiro! I'm sure you will be very surprise! 😃 Kisses!

👍😀❤️
Are there many areas through which you can move safely? Are the safe areas very expensive?
How could you guys have skipped Rio? <pure sacrilege I tell you> 😜
