The variety of extraordinarily sizzling days yearly when the temperature reaches 50C has doubled because the Nineteen Eighties, a world BBC evaluation has discovered.

“The rise could be 100% attributed to the burning of fossil fuels,” says Dr Friederike Otto, affiliate director of the Environmental Change Institute on the College of Oxford.
