RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – After Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro signed off on a regulation reducing R$690 million (US$122 million) from science funding administered by the Nationwide Council for Scientific and Technological Improvement (CNPq), a number of Brazilian science societies are preventing with the funding company’s administrators to get better the misplaced funds, placing the CNPq’s work in danger.
