RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The data company Invamer, in conjunction with two local Colombian media, launched a survey that revealed that 69.8% of Colombians polled disapprove of the administration of President Iván Duque.

According to the statistics, the unfavorable opinion increased by two points with respect to August this year, and an increase was seen about November 2020, when the index was 51.9%.

According to the data company, Iván Duque continues to be the head of government with the highest disapproval among those it has measured since former President Ernesto Samper. Only former governor Andrés Pastrana, who reached 63%, has a comparable disapproval rate with Duque.

The survey observed other parameters such as how things are going in the country, where 79.6% of people consider that things are going badly compared to 16.4% who believe they are going well.

According to their opinions, the biggest problem in Colombia is corruption, followed by unemployment, the economy, and insecurity, in that order.

In addition, other topics worry Colombians, such as political leaders, health coverage, drug trafficking, the situation in Venezuela, education, cost of living, among others.

The statistics showed that political parties and Congress are the most unfavored institutions, while the Church, the Armed Forces, and businessmen top the list of most approved, despite not exceeding 60 percent in these cases.

At the same time, the survey evaluated voting intentions for the presidential elections in Colombia, where candidate Gustavo Petro tops the list with 42.1% of the votes, ahead of Sergio Fajardo (18.9%), Rodolfo Hernández (13.8%), Óscar Ivám Zuluaga (12.7%), and Federico Gutiérrez (11.4%).
