Interim Conservative Party Leader Candice Bergen reacted Monday evening to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act to help put an end to the anti-COVID-19 mandates protests.
“Conservatives want to see the end of the blockades, we want them ended peacefully and quickly and in a way that Canadians feel that they’ve been listened to, heard and respected by their prime minister. We are concerned that the actions of the prime minister will not have that effect,” Bergen said.
She added that Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec are opposed to invoking the Emergencies Act.
She said the Conservatives will take a closer look and discuss what Trudeau is proposing before endorsing his plan for the Emergencies Act or not.

But the man knows nothing about science because science allows for discussion, inquiry, and open-mindedness, whereas Trudeau makes it clear that there is only one way to see things, his way. If he truly believed in science, he would first of all be discussing the actual science, and he would not be calling names those who do not agree with his views. Even political sciences involve open discussions, debates and respect for another's opinion… The man is therefore not even a true politician. What this pandemic has given us the opportunity to witness is a grown man who was a spoiled child used to getting everything his way. And if he needs to resort to name-calling and excessive force, so shall he do, for that is what spoiled brats do when they become adults with too much power! As a tax payer in Canada who is impacted due to the traffic jam they are causing in downtown Ottawa I am being directly impacted. These protesters are using hooligan tactics that directly impact the rights of other Canadians who need to use the roads to get to work on time causing unnecessary traffic. I pay my taxes just as they do so they have no right to impinge on my right to the roads and streets to get to work. They are also causing a public nuisance making a lot of noise for days on end. Yes I agree these people should be arrested and charged and pay a hefty fine.
