Regarding depression, I realized that, without any medication, a simple outlook change can become a personal mantra that may just save your life. That said, hearing “The fog isn’t real.” Reminded me of some things I wrote down, years ago, that just left my brain and ended up on paper. So now they’re in my brain to stay, and I keep them with me everyday:

1. “Life is a cycle. A grind or a groove. The Sun always shines, it’s the clouds that move.”

2. “In the end, the ebb it knows…a wave arrives and then it goes. In the ebb, the end IT knows…a mountain from a canyon grows.”

And lastly, #3. “A surly sea will surely show, how far a man will have to go. A sailor seeking shelter knows, a candle in a window glows.”

So…that fog? It IS real, it’s just not permanent.

I've been depressed for decades…as long as I can remember, started meditation for anxiety and depression when I was 12 or 13. It's not a new battle for me but I'm currently going through the most difficult season of life I've experienced yet. I've been finding zero reason to keep going but just that ONE LINE- "The fog isn't real" just…idk, hearing those words just instantly helped. I guess I'll stick around another day or 2. Thank you.
