Heavily armed federal border agents and U.S. troops descended upon MacArthur Park in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon as part of an immigration raid that appeared to turn up mostly empty.
The operation, which included 90 armed troops and 17 military Humvees, displaced a summer day camp, according to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who said the only point of the operations appeared to be “a political agenda of provoking fear and terror.”

In 1989, The Los Angeles Police detectives from all over the city, gave a televised press conference. During the conference they pleaded with politicians to "stop the revolving door at the southern border" as illegal criminals who had been arrested, convicted, and served their time in USA prisons for violent felony convictions, were deported, and returned to the USA, up to three and four times.
Because city officials did not believe what the detectives were saying. City officials provided the Rampart Division with a red stamp pad and a stamp indicating "Illegal." Arresting officers were to conduct a "one month survey". After an arrest, officers were required to ask the arrestee, if they were in the USA legally or illegally. If the arrestee said yes/they were illegally in the country; we were to place the red stamp on the first page of the arrest report. After "two weeks" the survey was discontinued. As I worked a shift that began at 6pm and ended at 3am, I was able to see all arrest report from all the other shifts. 90% of the 24 hours of arrest reports had a “Red Illegal Stamp.”
In the 1990s when Californians and the police pointed out that illegal aliens were driving around unlicensed, uninsured, involved in traffic accidents and hit and run accidents.
The California legislature allowed illegals to get identification cards and licenses because "the anointed democrats" believed that had the illegals been documented with an ID, they would have purchased insurance and stopped to identify themselves after a traffic collision.
It didn't work. The hit and run and uninsured statistics stayed the same.
