Moment rapper stops concert to 26,000 fans to berate ‘irresponsible’ mum who brought her one-year-old BABY to gig

THIS is the awkward moment a famous Colombian rapper stopped his concert to berate a mum for bringing her baby.

Maluma, 31, was performing in Mexico City when he suddenly spotted the tot in the crowd – prompting him to tell the mum off for “waving them around like they’re a toy”.

Some have praised Maluma’s passion for child safety, while others have accused him of shaming the mum

When the rapper was well into his show at Palacio de los Deportes in the Mexican capital over the weekend, he stopped the music to strike up a conversation with a mum.

The rapper, currently on his +Pretty +Dirty World Tour, said in Spanish: “With all due respect, how old are they?”

He continued: “A year old? Less? Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f***ing high?

“That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here.”

A video of the rapper’s remarks has since gone viral online.

Maluma, who has a one-year-old daughter with his girlfriend Susana Gomez, told the mum she should have taken precautions to protect the child’s hearing.

“Next time, protect their ears or something,” he said. “For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility.”

He went on to scold her, saying he would never do that as a parent.

“You’re waving them around like they’re a toy,” he said.

“That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”

Justin Timberlake fans fear for ‘tired’ star after series of ‘lazy’ performances on world tour

The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some praising Maluma’s comments and others criticising him for shaming the mum.

One person wrote on TikTok: “Every mother knows what she has to do with her child. If not, they should limit the capacity to a certain age.

“What’s the point in putting her through that in front of so many people?”

But another applauded the rapper, writing: “He probably saved that kid from not being able to hear for the rest of his life.”

Others criticised the organisers and security staff for allowing a baby into a rap concert.

Maluma’s tour is set to continue across Latin America, the US and Europe.

It comes as fans of Justin Timberlake recently slammed the singer for a string of “lazy performances” during his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which wrapped up on July 30.

Critics claimed Justin was “hardly singing” and leaning too much on the crowd, with many branding the shows “lazy”.

However, after his July 23 gig in Tbilisi, Georgia, a wave of support hit social media, as fans urged the pop star to rest.
