BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. The World
Boxing Championships for men and women are underway in Liverpool,
Trend reports.
Azerbaijan was represented in the semifinals by Saidzhamshid
Jafarov (75 kg) and Alfonso Dominguez (90 kg). Jafarov was defeated
by Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinbaev with a score of 1:4, while
Dominguez lost a close bout to Brazil’s Isaias Santos Ribeiro
Filho, 2:3.
As a result, both Azerbaijani athletes earned bronze medals at
the World Championships.
