Putin slams West’s "reckless" sanctions on Russia, blames US for global food crisis
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a combative speech on Friday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, saying that Russia’s economy had weathered Western sanctions imposed after Moscow’s intervention in Ukraine.

Putin accused the United States of treating other countries as “colonies,” and said gloomy forecasts for the Russian economy had not been fulfilled.

He also described European sanctions on Russia as “reckless” and as a “double-edged sword,” detailing economic losses the European Union (EU) has suffered from imposing sanctions on Russia.

The Russian president blamed the U.S. for the global food crisis and reaffirmed his country’s obligations to boost production and increase exports to countries in most need.

Amid a lengthy denunciation of the United States and its allies, Putin said: “Nothing will be as it used to be in global politics.”

    * The war in Ukraine will radically change the "historical" borders of Russia …
(The forecast of the philosopher Mikhail Aroshenko, the city of Dnipro, Ukraine)
*When will the war in Ukraine end? The ancient Greek philosopher Plato argued that only the dead see the end of the war… The other day, near Kharkov, the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only defeated, but intellectually outplayed the troops of the Russian Federation, of which there were twice as many! The Armed Forces of Ukraine used the tactics of the famous boxer Muhammad Ali: "Fly like a moth and sting like a wasp!" As a result, Ukraine received trophies in a week – about 300 tanks, guns and armored vehicles. The myth of the invincible "second army of the world" has been dispelled once again.
    * Roll call of centuries: After the defeat in the Crimean War of 1853-56. The Russian Tsar abolished serfdom. After the defeat in the "Crimean War" 2014-2023. Russia is waiting for historical changes…
    * 54 thousand soldiers and officers of the Russian Federation, 11 generals have already died in battles … The flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser "Moskva", lies at the bottom. In the Crimea, at the airfield near Saki, in one day on 08/09/22, 23 aircraft and helicopters of the 43rd Sevastopol Aviation Regiment (half of all fleet aircraft) were destroyed or damaged. This missile attack will go down in the history of wars. There have been no such one-time losses in the USSR-Russia since 1945. Russia has already lost 468 planes and helicopters, over 6,000 tanks and armored vehicles… This is a blow to the ambitions of the Kremlin, which has lost out to new war technologies….
    * "Why do we need such a world if there is no Russia?" – said Putin. In the Caucasus, they answer: "Why do we need such a Russia, because of which there will be no peace?" To get away from sanctions, the USSR-2 will be created – the Siberian Soviet Social Republic with its center in Novosibirsk. An independent Tatarstan and a renewed Chechnya will receive Turkey's support. The real Russia is no more than other average countries in the world. The rest of the national republics are its colonies, which one way or another will become free. The decolonization of Russia is inevitable, like the coming of dawn after night.
*Russia is still based on fear and professional slavery. She will face many years of rehabilitation and retribution for her manic desire to rewrite the history of the 20th century, because the Kremlin has long suffered from imperial "political schizophrenia" – megalomania and persecution delusions … The Putin era will end in disgrace, but "collective Putin" will remain. 70% of the population from the "generation of envy of the successful" supported the war.
    * Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of examples of overcoming suffering. After the defeat of Putinism, a new stage of renewal will begin. Most of the "deep people" will rebuild. From the period of supporting the war – to freedom of expression, creative life, creative economy and politics!
    * The historical genetics of Russia is the permanent seizure of foreign lands and property, the recognition of someone else's as one's own. After the defeat, Russia will have a chance to climb from the centuries-old imperial dress into democratic pants…

If the American gov thinks we/American citizens will endorse a war with Russia because of Ukraine they are sadly mistaken.

Our gov is literally collapsing our country on purpose and to be honest it has to happen. Leftists have destroyed this country.

When the Japanese won the Russo-Japanese war. Japan was given credit for being the first Eastern power to defeat a Western power.

When did Russia stop being the west as well? I am East of Japan, doesn't that make me east and not west?

Sure they invaded their Asiatic holdings in the 1500s but since their capital has never moved, they are still part of the west no? Russia Doesn't have many major cities in the east, which means its major population is in the west….can we stop blaming directions of a compass and start blaming individuals.

Like its not Russia who is causing the war, its Russian Leadership. Its not US citizens who caused its politicians to stand against Russia, its the Dictatorship and lack of Democracy that our leaders stand against Russian leaders. If the Russians were not lead by Rich Oligarchy and a figure head like Putin, if they hadn't invaded Ukraine becoming hypocrites themselves, we would be good friends. I am GLAD we didn't let Hitler and the Nazis destroy Russia, but without US(a) russia would be broken up into puppet states for the 3rd reich, please stop making us regret that. We should have been friends not enemies.

Russia has been around a lot longer then the USA, we could use a big brother, not some out of control Cousin who went insane from inbreeding.

    Putin's indulging in transference again.
He attacked what he called 'cancel culture' citing nazis burning books. It's exactly what Russia is doing in occupied Ukrainian territories.
It's Russian agression that has been destabilizing much of the world.

Humanity, with its thirst for war-like greed and confrontation is making Earth uninhabitable for itself. If all countries of the world turned their military budgets into cooperation and aid, humanity might be saved. I think the odds of that happening, despite scientists being aware of what is happening, extremely low. Human extinction is likely within less than 100 years. Narcissistic autocrats will not be remembered for anything because there will be no-one to remember anything.

Putin is suffering from an acute fit of paranoia, if the West had wanted to destroy Russia would have done so in 1991 when his country was virtually bankrupt and speaking of destroying Russia, Putin only needs the help of nobody and even less from the West for that, he already does it very well on his own

Putin would be wise not to trade his surplus of goods with North America because the economies, in actuality, are built on trash.

As a gardener in a blue collar trade, my wage last year in Canada was $25/hour during last season. This year it has risen to $35/hour for the season of May to ~October. Thus, the inflation rate in Canada hovers at 40% if my wages are any indication of the health of the Canadian economy. However, the gardening season is short and I do not work full-time so rely on British Columbia's provincial disability social assistance of ~$560/month plus a federal disability pension of ~$811/month or thereabouts, which is absolute peanuts.😢I bank with "Toronto Dominion (TD) Canada Trust" and they rob my chequing account by failing to provide online access while they add transactions and don't provide currency calculations with a floating exchange rate for withdrawals from other countries. I neither own capital assets nor have any hope in Canada of being able to acquire them. Canada is just built on credit and could fall like a deck of cards. The American credit card I own called "CapitalOne" but has since been cancelled and am currently in dispute having not received a skirt ordered from, "Free People" clothing company, which hilariously remains a sticking point and a refund of this $183.33 charge seems unlikely. Abyssmal & bizarre. Even my phone is 'frozen' on certain settings allowing unauthorised access to my photos, camera, etc. Western society, ironically, rules with an iron fist. Sounds historically familiar and may shed light on why Nazis are celebrated in Canada by the likes of Trudeau et al.
