Canada repairs rift with India, as CSIS raises new foreign interference concerns
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Canada-India relations appear to be improving after Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 summit.

But Canada’s spy agency is raising fresh concerns about India’s government.

Global’s Touria Izri looks at how the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is warning Canada still faces foreign interference threats from India, and how Carney is being tight-lipped about his meeting with Modi.

CSIS can perhaps provide "CREDIBLE" evidence for their claim. CSIS probably only listened to the World STUPID Organisation or is it World Separatist Organisation or World sikh organisation?

  7. @caterpillarmud126 says:

So the same report also says

"small group of individuals are considered Khalistani extremists because they continue to use Canada as a base for the promotion, fundraising or planning of violence primarily in India" why no mention of this?? If Canada can allow this to India then India will also interfere to prevent the violence in india as the same report mentioned the Air India terrorist blast in 1985 by Canadian based khalistani group. Your reporting is selective which is so dangerous, half truth.

  8. @Igloo683 says:

PM Carney understands that if India killed Nijjar, then did so because Trudeau and Khalistan sympathizer Jagmeet were protecting him and that Nijjar was a known criminal with an Interpol Red Notice on him.
PM Carney knows the basic fact that behind on the side of the fastest growing major economy is wasy beneficial than siding with terrorist groups which caused tthe worst terrorist attack in Canada's history.

  9. @Hu-MANN says:

Same report highlighted Khalistanis as a national security threat in Canada and noted Indian interference is due to Canada based Khalistanis sponsoring violence in Punjab, India. Why not cover both sides of the issue. Why selective reporting. My God our Indian English channels are so much better and intellectually superior to the Canadian media channels. I didn’t know they are so inferior in quality.

I guess global news is so behind spreading false info. I see only anti modi news here. Instead of saying that a global leader arrived you focused on saying the protest by a small group. You should open your lenses and watch other news as well. And may be read full reports.

  15. @rajatgupta76 says:

Wow so most canadian channels are so biased that they are only reading part of CSIS report and not telling the part where CSIS confirms khalisthanis are using Canadian soil to plan fund and train ppl for causing violence in India very shamefull

India needs to take responsibility for the criminals coming to Canada to cause trouble. Also get hold of the scam call centers. Im sick of answering them

  18. @srinivasmahapatro5419 says:

At least canada govt should produce evidence in Canada court. After accusations no evidence was produced in any court. Indian court will also ban any such of activity which was not proper procedure.
Only canada media creates narratives. Second breaking of another country is not freedom of speech. Just like canada is 51st state of another country.

  19. @jaydeshaw3394 says:

Why shouldn't we align ourselves with a third world country that has plans to take us over instead of a first world country like the USA. Either way…..choose.

  23. @mitalinandy3102 says:

really: these networks are controlled by Khalistani?? When did a terrorist, a criminal become an activist? Free speech does not mean calling to kill people openly. CSIS has been infiltrated by the Khalistani and hence destroyed the tapes for the AIR India bombing and all the culprits are walking around freely. Please Canada should not be talking about democracy and rule of laws. These Khalistanis are harassing the Hindus and calling them to be killed. That is not free speech. At least Mark Carney is smart enough to know the truth and adopting the right approach. Moreover, there is no Khalistani movement in India now. Its all in BC-Surrey and Brampton, Ontario.

  24. @edwin1041 says:

As such not so much threats to Canada? Threats to personnel needed to be sorted by keeping both sides in check and restraint?

  28. @onthejob9153 says:

So, India seems to think that Canada is harboring a separatist group, but as long as they do not break the law here, they have the right to voice their opinion, and if they do break the law, they will be prosecuted, but India has no right to send assassins on Canadian soil to kill citizens or residents. That's a very scary thought as a Canadian
    I'm not even Indian descent.
We have a new Prime Minister. Let's restart relations. But that is unacceptable behavior moving forward

  29. @ProgressiveIndia-yd1ev says:

By the way, same CSIS also mentioned in the report that Khalistani extremists are acting against India on Canadian soil, but Global News doesn't seem to be care about that. Stop spreading biased and hypocritical news.

  30. @scottpatrick8645 says:

Why is littering a cultural norm in this country?

  31. @karthikchsk says:

What legitimate speech ? First of all they are our people. The real Punjabi people in India are the warrior clan, for them patriotism towards India is their highest calling. it is a land of Bhagat singh. However, there are some rogue people who are a disgrace to their community and land, flee india and take shelter into your country. when they go there they spit venom on India instead being a law abiding citizen to canada and your system is encouraging them in the name of freedom of expression. Would you be okay if in India we protest for freedom of Quebec province from Canada and claim that it is freedom of expression ?

  32. @manojchowdhary4208 says:

  35. @Alanom2007 says:

I find it inbelievable that Canadian media refuses to even show that these Khalistanis are the same people who did the AI bombing and still celebrate the terrorists who did it as martyrs. Disgusting. CSIS should answer how they botched that investigation so spectacularly that justice has still not been provided to the victims families.

  36. @rupasandhu6061 says:

Csis hasn't figured out if Modi killed nijjar, but they have time for these new studies in India. Canadian inept bureaucracy.

  37. @tangosrin says:

How about the paragraph of extremists harbored in canada

  38. @vd.se.17 says:

Please provide the transparant information: "How the Nijjar get his citizenship?" –I heard that two time he failed and caught lying with fake medical papers. Is it true?

  39. @someguy2707 says:

These violent extremists were not only given platform but were being legitimized by JT and JS.
Would you allow ISIS parades? Why should anyone wishing harm to Hindus or any other religion be allowed openly to parade down Canadian streets?

  40. @jaredperry9922 says:

Canada should be very concerned about invasions 🙅‍♂️

  41. @prairietan says:

Trust noone is the best advice now. That's not how Canada should be

  42. @cr98765 says:

India is rapidly moving toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy, and it doesn’t have the time or energy to get caught up in Canada’s gang fights and politics, which only benefit a few radical Canadians. If things get too difficult, India may just ignore Canada or cut ties for major government engagements. Over the last decade, Canada has already created a significant mess under the guise of accepting refugees and asylum seekers, with many criminals and extremists entering the country who are unwelcome elsewhere. Unless the Canadian government takes careful and decisive action towards this corruption, it seems this issue will continue to harm the country’s reputation for some time.

  43. @rahulbhatt1514 says:

Hm.. unfortunately csis cant see drug and human trafficking duebto khalistanis and pakistan.

And please sikhs and khalistanis are different.

  44. @vinibusisanga1754 says:

R&AW has direct involvement in Canadian and US elections through Indian diaspora proxies . India aims at Indo-Russian polices even if it is not for khalistan issue.

During Couts and Sweet Grass border blockade two csis agents were trying to recruit me for a job on US side of the border, and the job was starting conflict between truck drivers and to make sure there is a fight between people. I took pictures and videos of them as a evidence so I can report to authorities but csis got in to my house and destroyed all that evidence and they started to destroy my life by trying to blame me that I was the one recruiting. During unlawful surveillance on me they tried to cause accidents on the road they turned my family and friends and coworkers against me they were harassing and humiliating me they made me quit my jobs because I couldn't take it anymore when I tried to report crimes committed by csis to calgary police and rcmp I was humiliated cops said " don't worry kid those are just criminals go home"  and there is more and more !!! Don't trust police rcmp or csis
