Drone footage taken over the previous two days confirmed swathes of charred land engulfed by lava in La Palma, Spain, capturing a complete chicken’s eye view of the extent of devastation from the Cumbre Vieja volcano eruption, which reveals no signal of ending.
Streams of lava have laid waste to greater than 1,833 acres of land and destroyed nearly 2,000 buildings on La Palma because the volcano began erupting on Sept. 19.
There have been 42 seismic tremors on the island on Sunday, the most important of which measured 4.3, in response to the Spanish Nationwide Geographical Institute.
About 7,000 individuals have been evacuated from their houses on the island.
