A dam collapsed within the northeastern Brazilian state of Bahia after weeks of heavy rains, swamping already swollen native rivers and threatening flash floods, regional authorities mentioned late on Saturday, Development reviews citing Reuters.
The Igua dam is close to the town of Vitoria da Conquista in southern Bahia, main authorities to evacuate residents in danger down river, primarily within the city of Itambe.
There have been no reviews of deaths or accidents or main harm, although particulars of the incident remained restricted.
“A dam with a big quantity of water has collapsed and a powerful flash flood will affect the municipality of Itambe…,” the Itambe city corridor posted on its official Instagram account.
“All residents ought to evacuate the margins of the Verruga river urgently,” it added.
