The United Nations Human Rights Council unanimously voted on Thursday in favour of a Decision on guaranteeing accountability and reaching justice in Palestine.
37 nations voted in favour of the decision and seven abstained, whereas 3 nations voted towards the Decision.
The Palestinian Ministry of Overseas Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the UNHRC Decision, thanking the member states that had voted in favour of the draft decision submitted by the State of Palestine.
The Ministry stated in an announcement that the unanimous vote displays “the principled place of the member states on the significance of accountability of the Israeli colonial and apartheid regime”.
In response to the assertion, 37 nations have voted in favour of the Decision, together with sister Arab and European nations, China and vital nations in Africa and Asia, whereas seven nations have abstained particularly, Ukraine, the UK, Cameroon, the Marshall Islands, India, Nepal and Honduras. The Ministry stated “the worldwide consensus and the vote in favour of Palestine’s resolutions is a type of safety for the Palestinian folks and preserving their rights, which might finally result in the dismantling of the Israeli apartheid regime,” including that the vote is proof of “the dedication of those nations to make sure those that perpetrate warfare crimes and crimes towards humanity towards the Palestinian persons are held to account.”
The Ministry urged the worldwide neighborhood “to carry Israel and Israeli warfare criminals to account,” and harassed that “the coverage of double requirements and selectivity in implementing the foundations of worldwide legislation will undermine the rule-based worldwide order”.
